I developed tummy ache since 11am on 9/10/07. However, after having my dinner, I vomitted at around 9pm. I tossed and turned on bed but couldn't really sleep! My mum realised I was having fever (38 degrees) at midnight. I took panadol but the fever didn't subside any sooner.......2.30am, we headed to a clinic and the "sleepy" doctor diagnosed my case as suspected appendicitis! I was directed to hospital and then, ADMITTED!!! So scary man...... may need an operation, you know?!
I was nil by mouth to prepare myself for the worst. My temperature was hovering around 38 to 39.3 degrees. I felt restless without having a wink for the night. Finally, I was allowed to taste some clear soup for lunch. Now I realised how a bowl of plain soup could taste that nice! YUMMY!!!!!
I was bored to death having to stay on bed, hooking on drips. My poor little hands were uncomfortable with the plugs on. I pleaded to go down to the shop alley on a wheelchair and my parents relented. My 1st time sitting on a wheelchair was nice but found it difficult to wheel around on my own. Gradually my fever starts to subside .......... though not my tummy aches!
I spent the night alone ......... under the care of nurses
Day 2 was FUN! I was removed off the drip and can eat porridge but had diarrhoea after that. It's good, don't worry! Doctor said the virus would then be passed out this way. I was sort of back to my usual self. I ventured around the ward and to my greatest discovery --- There's a playroom for inhouse patients equipped with X-box, computers, board games and art & craft! I started to appreciate my hospital stay more!
No matter how enjoyable, it's still the BEST to go home! The nurse removed the plug on my hand and I was on my way home this afternoon, 4.19pm. FINALLY DISCHARGE LIAO!!!!
